Saturday, October 24

4:00 p.m. PT

DGA Theater 1

7920 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90046

Please join the LGBTQ+ Committee for a tribute to Director Ira Sachs, featuring a screening of his new film The Man I Love, followed by a Q&A with Sachs moderated by Director Lisa Cholodenko.

Attn: entertainment job seekers & interview preppers, got a cool (free) opportunity if you're looking to boost chances of landing the second interview.

Deena Beach, a friend and former colleague of mine, is teaching a free 30-minute online session on Maven that you might find pretty valuable.

Her take is that an interview is a blind date set up by HR, and both people at the table are deciding if they want a second date.

She spent 20 years on the hiring side at Warner Bros. and Disney, and she's teaching what she learned in all those interviews + debriefs: what hiring managers are actually deciding while you talk, what "fit" really means, and how to show you "fit".

It's Thursday, October 8 at 5:30pm PT, free, and recorded if you can't make it live. Sign up here: Maven
