Overview:
Smosh invites an experienced, resourceful Graphic Designer to join our team. In this crucial role, you'll create compelling thumbnails for all Smosh YouTube channels, bridging the gap between Content and Marketing. Your innovative thumbnail designs will significantly contribute to the brand's success. Reporting to the Director of Design, you will be a key player in our creative process.
Responsibilities:
Ideate, develop, and produce thumbnails for Smosh's YouTube channels in collaboration with the design team.
Engage closely with producers, directors, and channel managers to craft thumbnail visuals.
Apply feedback from creative leads for thumbnail variations and A/B tests.
Assist the Design Director in maintaining a comprehensive graphic library, including in-video assets, production stills, merch designs, logos, and branding.
Provide support for in-video graphics, motion graphics, and VFX to the edit team as needed.
Efficiently manage multiple projects with swift turnaround times.
Support the Marketing Team with promotional key art and other graphic needs for social platforms as required.
Actively contribute to the ideation and design of other company initiatives upon request.
Requirements:
At least 4 years of graphic design experience, preferably in digital media.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in creating thumbnails.
Intermediate skills in After Effects, including transitions, lower thirds, and VFX.
Deep understanding of industry trends and design sensibilities appropriate for Smosh’s audience.
Excellent work ethic, complemented by a positive, can-do attitude.
Strong organizational abilities, with effective written and verbal communication skills.
