DIRECTOR, Content Marketing

*LOS ANGELES

https://goldhouse.org/job/director-content-marketing/

The Opportunity

Gold House is hiring a Director of Content Marketing to own and advance our content engine. This is a senior, highly cross-functional role that will define how Gold House tells its story — across platforms, formats, and audiences — throughout the full year. You will develop and execute our editorial and campaign calendar, lead storytelling across all of our pillars, and build a content pipeline that expands our reach beyond the Asian Pacific community into mainstream culture, entertainment, and business media. The right person for this role brings both editorial instincts and marketing fluency. You understand what makes a story resonate, how to package and distribute it across channels, and how to build an audience over time — not just capture a moment. You’ll work closely with our social and vertical teams, and serve as a key creative partner to leadership.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Background

  • 10+ years of experience in editorial, content strategy, and/or content marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing a team

  • Background at a media company, lifestyle publication, entertainment brand or platform, with a strong understanding of how content powers brand growth and cultural resonance

  • Demonstrated track record of building content programs from the ground up or significantly scaling them

  • Experience managing editorial calendars across multiple content verticals and formats simultaneously

  • Proven ability to develop, manage, and grow an audience across owned and social channels

Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional writer and editor with strong headline instincts and a sophisticated sense of brand voice

  • Deep fluency across content formats: editorial, video, social-native, newsletters, branded content, experiential coverage

  • Collaborative operator who can work cross-functionally with social, creative, PR, partnerships, and leadership teams

  • Organized and process-minded, with the ability to run multiple workstreams and projects simultaneously without losing quality

  • Data-informed — you know how to read content performance and translate it into strategy adjustments

  • Familiarity with content management tools, project management platforms, and analytics dashboards (e.g., Asana, Google Analytics, Brandwatch, Sprout Social or equivalents)

Cultural Fluency

  • Genuine passion for and/or familiarity with Asian Pacific culture, communities, and representation — and the ability to tell those stories with nuance and authenticity

  • Strong pulse on mainstream entertainment, business, and cultural media — you know what a breakthrough story looks like and how to engineer one

  • Understanding of how to bridge community and mainstream audiences without losing either

Nice to Have

  • Portfolio preferred

  • Experience in entertainment, film/TV, or publishing

  • Familiarity with mission-driven brand storytelling

  • Experience building or managing a branded content studio or production function

  • Prior work with awards campaigns, cultural franchises, or list-based editorial properties

  • Existing relationships with editors, journalists, or content creators in culture, entertainment, or business media

Compensation & Benefits

  • The base salary range for this role is $125,000 – $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits
